West Windsor, NJ-Mercer baseball (20-16) lost to RCSJ Gloucester 3-13 in 8 innings. RCSJ Gloucester is currently the #2 ranked team in NJCAA Division III Baseball. Sophomore Gavin Neal (Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra HS) had 3 of the Vikings 7 hits and freshman Torin McKenzie (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) had the lone Viking RBI of the game. Freshman pitcher Colin Bernhard (Florence, NJ/Florence Township) threw one scoreless inning of relief in the loss.
The Vikings will host Sussex on Friday, April 21st at 2:00 PM in the opening game of a three game series in a key Region 19 matchup as both teams compete for playoff seeds.

Trenton, NJ-Mercer baseball (20-15) routed Bucks County Community College 16-1 in 7 innings in a game played at Arm & Hammer Stadium, home of the Trenton Thunder. The Vikings put on an offensive showcase with 13 hits and a 9 run third inning. Freshman Evrin Virola (Edison, NJ/Edison) went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 5 RBIs and sophomore Brayden Meskill went 2 for 3 with an out of the park home run and 4 RBIs. Freshmen Jon Pinciotti (Ivyland, PA/Council Rock South) and Jacob Ramirez (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney) each went 2 for 4 with an RBI and sophomore Jalen Perez (Chesapeake, VA/Western Branch HS) added an RBI in the win. Freshman pitcher Ryan Mignogna (Ewing, NJ/Ewing HS) got his second win of the season, allowing just one run and striking out 3 in 5 innings. Sophomore pitchers Dan Errigo (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) and Andrew Luczak (East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown) each threw a scoreless and hitless inning of relief.

Randolph, NJ-Mercer baseball (18-15) lost Game 1 of their doubleheader at Morris 1-5 in 7 innings. The Vikings managed just 4 hits in the loss. Sophomore Brayden Meskill (Hamilton, NJ/Notre Dame) went 2 for 4 with a double and freshman Evrin Virola (Edison, NJ/Edison HS) had the lone Viking RBI. Sophomore pitcher Joe Dimino (Millstone, NJ/Allentown) struck out 4 and allowed just one hit in 4 innings.
The Vikings (19-15) bounced back to beat Morris 9-6 in Game 2 of their doubleheader. Freshman Evrin Virola (Edison, NJ/Edison HS) went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 RBIs and sophomore Jalen Perez (Chesapeake, VA/Western Branch HS) had a double and 3 RBIs. Freshman Joe Gmitter (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) was 2 for 4 with an RBI and freshman Torin McKenzie (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) went 2 for 4 in the win. Freshmen Tyler Gonzalez (East Hartford, CT/Cheshire Academy) and Jacob Ramirez (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney) and sophomore Hunter Rivera (Lawrence, NJ/Lawrence HS) each had an RBI. Sophomore pitcher Brett Mutz (Swathmore, PA/Strath Haven HS) picked up his fifth win of the season. Sophomore reliever Andrew Luczak (East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown) got his fifth save of the season with a scoreless seventh inning.

Sophomore Ryan Wheet (Southampton, PA/Council Rock South) went 1 for 2 with an RBI and sophomore Gavin Neal (Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra HS) and freshman Jon Pinciotti (Ivyland, PA/Council Rock South) each had a hit and run in the loss. Freshman Tyler Gonzalez (East Hartford, CT/Cheshire Academy) had a double, which was one of only four Viking hits in the game.
In Game 2 of their doubleheader, Mercer (14-10) again fell to Del Tech in 7 innings, 4-7. Sophomore pitcher Brett Mutz (Swathmore, PA/Strath Haven HS) got his first win of the season and had 7 strikeouts in 7 innings.
Mercer (2-4) got their second victory of the season with a 7-4 win over Rockland CC in Game 2 of their doubleheader. Freshman Torin McKenzie (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 RBIs and freshman Jalen Perez (Chesapeake, VA/Western Branch HS) also went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Freshman Evrin Virola (Edison, NJ/Edison HS) was 2 for 3 with a double and RBI and freshman Jon Pinciotti (Ivyland, PA/Council Rock South) also had a double and RBI. Sophomore Brayden Meskill (Hamilton, NJ/Notre Dame) went 2 for 2 at the plate and sophomore Ryan Wheet (Southampton, PA/Council Rock South) had a triple in the win. Sophomore relief pitcher Andrew Luczak (East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown HS) struck out 2 in the 7th for his first save of the season. Freshman relief pitcher Justin McKnight (Toms River, NJ/New Egypt HS) threw 2 scoreless innings and got his first collegiate win.
The Vikings host Monroe College in a 12 PM doubleheader on Sunday, March 5th.

Bel Air, MD-Mercer baseball (0-3) lost Game 1 of their doubleheader at Harford 3-4. The Vikings led 3-2 headed into the bottom of the 7th inning but gave up 2 runs to end the game with a 3-4 loss. Freshman Evrin Virola (Edison, NJ/Edison HS) went 1 for 2 with a double and freshman Jacob Ramirez (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney) went 3 for 4 with a run. Freshmen Joe Gmitter (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Nick Harley (Newtown, PA/Upper Dublin HS) and sophomore Hunter Rivera (Lawrence, NJ/Lawrence HS) each had an RBI. Sophomore Dan Errigo (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy HS) struck out 5 in 5 innings in the loss.
Mercer baseball (0-4) lost Game 2 of their doubleheader at Harford 1-3. The Vikings managed just 3 hits in the loss from sophomores Jalen Perez (Chesapeake, VA/Western Branch HS) and Ryan Wheet (Southampton, PA/Council Rock South) and freshman Tyler Gonzalez (Glastonbury, CT/Cheshire Academy). Freshman Nick Harley (Newtown, PA/Upper Dublin HS) had the lone Viking RBI. Freshman Justin McKnight (Toms River, NJ/New Egpyt HS) threw 2 scoreless innings of relief with 2 strikeouts in the loss.
The Vikings will look for their first wins of the season when they host Rockland CC on Saturday, March 4th for a 12 PM doubleheader.

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer baseball (0-1) opened the season with a 0-11 loss in Game 1 of their doubleheader vs UConn Avery Point. The Vikings gave up 7 runs in the 6th inning after trailing 0-4. Mercer had just three hits in Game 1 from freshmen Joe Gmitter (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert), Tyler Gonzalez (Glastonbury, CT/Cheshire Academy) and Joe Pinciotti (Ivyland, PA/Council Rock South).
