The women's soccer team had a very successful season, capturing both the Region 19 and Garden State Athletic Conference titles. The Vikings fell to host Monroe CC 2-4 in the District semifinals to bring an end to their 16-5-1 season. Head Coach Jodie Ricciardi's squad produced 6 All GSAC performers, including midfielders Samantha Biondi (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Cailtin Wilson (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor North), forward Kasey Kenny (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville HS), back Marissa Segal (East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown HS), all first team selections and goalkeeper Brianna Byrne (East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown HS) and forward Carolyn Walters (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham HS), second team selections. These six players were also all named to the Region 19 team: Kenny and Segal were first-team selections while Walters, Wilson, Biondi, and Byrne were second team selections. For the second straight season, Kasey Kenny was named the top player in Region 19, earning her, her second NJCAA All-American selection (Honorable Mention). Kenny and teammate Angelica Modica (Englishtown, NJ/Manalapan HS) plan to continue playing soccer together at the University of Bridgeport next season. Sophomore Carolyn Walters was the recepient of the National Association of Girl's and Women's Sports Awards.
Coach Ricciardi will lose many players from this year's Region 19 champion squad but will look for leadership from returning players such as Jess Villalba (Cookstown, NJ/Bordentown Regional HS), Lauren Sparano (Ewing, NJ/Ewing HS) and Brittany Fornarotto (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) and from returning All-Conference and All-Region selections Marissa Segal, Brianna Bryne, and Samantha Biondi. In addition to losing two-time All-American Kenny, the Vikings also lose captains Erika Juricic (East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown HS) and Brittany Usarzewicz (Hamilton Square, NJ/Steinert), All-Conference and All-Region performers Walters and Wilson. Also leaving the Vikings are Kelsey Capuano (Ewing, NJ/Ewing HS) a two-year player and one-year players Alexandra Casperson (Princeton, NJ/Robbinsville HS) and Gianna Greco (Jobstown, NJ/Northern Burlington HS) who all contributed valuable minutes to the Vikings successful season.
