It may be cold outside but softball season is just around the corner!
MCCC has announced their 2025 schedule. The Vikings will open play on March 1st. Mercer will play 22 doubleheaders with thirteen of those doubleheaders in March and nine in April.
Ten of these doubleheaders will be against Region Division II opponents (one home series and one away series): Raritan Valley, Lackawanna, Sussex, Salem and County College of Morris.
The Vikings will also play three teams that were ranked in the final NJCAA Division III regular season poll: RCSJ-Gloucester, Northampton CC and Hudson Valley CC.
Other opponents for the Vikings this spring include Cecil College, Harford CC, CCBC-Catonsville and SUNY Orange.
Mercer’s final regular season game is on April 26th vs Sussex County CC.
The Vikings finished the 2024 season with a 42-9 record and a trip to the Atlantic A District Championship. Despite the elimination in the District Championship, MCCC softball finished with the most wins in their program’s history. The 2024 season also saw Head Coach Ryan Zegarski get his 600th career win.
Although there is a chill in the air and snow in the forecast, the ping of the bats and pop of the gloves will be coming soon.
