Women's Basketball Sophomore Night to Be Held February 11th

 

 

Four Mercer women’s basketball players will be playing in their final home game of the regular season February 11^th when the Vikings host Salem CC at 5:00 PM on Sophomore Night.

 

Jhava Wilson joined the Vikings in the second half of the 2024-2025 season.  The guard has been averaging 10.7 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game and 1.5 assists per game.  Wilson is a Business Studies major from Trenton who earned All-Conference and All-Region All-Academic honors for the Fall 2024 semester.  In her previous stint with Mercer women’s basketball, Wilson averaged 20.8 points per game, which was 8^th best in NJCAA DII women’s basketball that season. Wilson had 415 points that season and also averaged 5 rebounds per game and 2.5 assists per game. 

 

Carla Cencerrero Gallego is a Liberal Arts major from Mataro, Spain.  Cencerrero Gallego earned All-Conference and All-Region All-Academic honors for the Fall 2024 semester.  Cencerrero Gallego had a prefect 4.0 GPA for the fall semester.  Cencerrero Gallego is also women’s basketball’s Women in Sports Day selection for her academic and athletic accomplishments as well as her leadership and teamwork.  The forward has averaged 5.5 rebounds per game and worked her way into the starting lineup.  Cencerrero Gallego is always supportive of her teammates and maintains a positive and encouraging attitude every game and practice.

 

Lia Sekhniashvili is an Exercise Science major from Madrid, Spain.  Sekhniashvili is averaging 6.9 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game and 1.8 assists per game.  Sekhniashvili earned All-Region and All-Conference All-Academic honors for the fall 2024 semester.  Sekhniashvili has been a leader on the court who helps bring energy and encouragement every time she enters the game.

 

Gabriella Ross is a Liberal Arts major from Lakehurst, New Jersey.  Ross is averaging 20.7 points per game (15^th best in NJCAA Division II women’s basketball), 5.6 rebounds per game and 1.5 assists per game.  Ross has 352 points in seventeen games this season.  Ross has led an explosive Vikings offensive that is averaging 76.1 points per game.
