Fusik is in his first season as Head Coach at Mercer County Community and has already led the Vikings to a top 25 ranking in the NJCAA’s (National Junior College Athletic Association) Division II Top 25 poll for the first time in 25 years.
Fusik came to MCCC with an impressive coaching resume and strong track record of success. Fusik spent four seasons as Head Coach of Trenton Catholic Academy Girls Varsity Basketball, compiling a 93-9 record from 2017-2021. Trenton Catholic Academy Girls Basketball were Mercer County Tournament Champions and Burlington County Scholastic League Champions in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Fusik was named the Trenton Times Coach of the Year three straight years (2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20) and was also named the NJ Girls Basketball Coach of the Year in 2017-2018. While at TCA, Fusik coached two McDonald’s All-Americans and helped Trenton Catholic Academy to become one of the top ranked girls’ basketball programs in the state.
Prior to coaching at TCA, Fusik was Assistant Coach of Rutgers Prep Girls Varsity Basketball from 2010-2017. During this time, Rutgers Prep won three Somerset County Championships and three Prep B Championships. After coaching this boys AAU team, Fusik coached the Girls Central Jersey Cardinals, who won the AAU National title in 2012. Eight years ago, Fusik helped start up a new AAU program, FCP Elite, which was comprised of Mercer County’s top girls’ players and went on to win two AAU National Championships.
