Mercer Women's Basketball is Back

MCCC women’s basketball is back for the first time in three years and performing at a level the Vikinga have not been at for years.  The Vikings are 12-5 with seven games remaining in the 2024-2025 season.  Even if Mercer were to lose their remaining seven games, they would still qualify for the Region Playoffs, as teams must be either .500 or overall or in Region.

The Vikings have not been to the Region 19 Playoffs since 2010-2011.  Nine more wins and Mercer would tie their highest win total since 2009-2010, when they went 21-9.  Mercer already has the most wins they have had in a season in ten seasons with nine regular season games remaining.

Currently Mercer sits in fifth place in the Region 19 standings at 6-5 in Region play, behind Union (12-0), Harcum (8-3), Raritan Valley (7-3), and Lackawanna (8-4).  The Vikings face Lackawanna on February 4th and Raritan Valley on February 18th in their final game of the regular season.

While the seeding of the Region Playoffs will be determined during the final weeks of the regular season, one thing that has already been determined is that Mercer women’s basketball is back.
