Softball Player O'Dell Gets 100th Career Hit

 

 

MCCC sophomore softball player Kelci O’Dell (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) got her 100th career hit in the Vikings doubleheader at RCSJ Gloucester on March 8th in her first at bat of Game 2.

 

O’Dell was named First Team All-Region 19 in 2024 following an outstanding season at the platenished the , finishing the 2024 season with a .531 batting average, which was eighth best in the nation.  O’Dell had 93 hits, which was third best in NJCAA Division II softball and also had 62 RBIs.

 

O’Dell has started off the 2025 season strong, with a .643 batting average and nine hits in just four games.

 

O’Dell’s hitting helped the Vikings to a program record 42 wins last season and trip to the Atlantic A District Championship.  The veteran shortstop will be relied on again this season not just for her bat, but the leadership she provides in the field, constantly communicating with her teammates and keeping the Vikings focused on the next play.
