MCCC Softball Players Earn All-Region 19 Honors

Mercer softball had six players earn 1^st Team All-Region honors: freshman infielder Kelci O’Dell (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) and sophomore infielder Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township), freshman outfielder Emily Wyzykowski (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley), sophomore pitcher Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) and freshman pitcher Izzy Bonacci (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and freshman utility player Angelina Guida (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Twp.).  Krebs was named the Region 19 Pitcher of the Year.

O’Dell had an outstanding season at the plate, finishing with a .531 batting average, which was eighth best in the nation.  O’Dell had 93 hits this spring, which was third best in NJCAA Division II softball.  O’Dell also had 62 RBIs this season.

Patel hit .525 on the season, 11^th best in NJCAA Division II softball.  Patel had a .983 slugging percentage and had 11 home runs and 19 doubles this spring.  Wyzykowski finished the season with a .434 batting average.  Wyzykowski  had 63 hits, 46 RBIs, 19 doubles and 6 home runs.  Guida had a .386 batting average along with 49 hits.  Guida also scored 46 runs and had 35 RBIs in her first collegiate season.

Bonacci finished her rookie season with 15 wins and a 2.63 ERA.  Bonacci had 154 strikeouts and average 8.98 strikeouts per game, which was 14^th best in NJCAA Division II softball.  Krebs went 17-2 this spring and had 103 strikeouts.  Krebs had 8 shutouts, which was second best in NJCAA Division II softball.  Krebs threw a perfect game against Lackawanna in April and had a 2.24 ERA.
