The 2024 baseball season opens up in February for the Vikings with four home games to start the year. On February 24th, the Vikings will host UConn Avery Point, followed by Suffolk CCC the next day. The next weekend Mercer will host Rockland CC and SUNY Westchester CC on March 2nd and 3rd. The Vikings will play three more games before heading to a shortened Myrtle Beach trip March 15th-17th. Mercer will conclude their trip South with a doubleheader at College of Southern Maryland on March 19th before opening Region play.
The Vikings play each Region opponent in a three game series with one nine inning game followed by a doubleheader the next day, alternating home and away sites. The Vikings begin Region 19 play with a game at Del Tech CC on March 22nd, followed by a home doubleheader on the 23rd. Mercer will host Sussex CCC on March 28th, followed by a road doubleheader on the 29th. Mercer will host County College of Morris on April 5th and travel to CCM for a doubleheader on April 6th. The Vikings will host Lackawanna on April 12th and play a road doubleheader on April 13th. The final Region series of the season starts with an away game at Raritan Valley CC on April 19th with a home doubleheader on April 20th.
Other home games for the Vikings in the 2024 season include Monroe College on March 10th, RCSJ Gloucester on March 26th and April 16th, Salem CC on April 2nd and Cecil College on May 2nd, the Vikings final regular season game of the year.
Road games for the Vikings include Harford on March 5th, Monroe on March 9th, Delaware County CC on April 14th and Frederick Community College on April 28th. Road games against Region opponents
RCSJ Gloucester won the NJCAA Division III National Championship last spring. Mercer will face Lackawanna in Region, who finished the year ranked 19th in the DII poll and Frederick CC who finished 20th in the DII poll.
Mercer went 22-23 last spring in Head Coach Russ Stupienski’s first year as Head Coach.
