On Tuesday, November 26th, Mercer men’s basketball (3-4) gave #19 ranked Middlesex College (8-1) their first loss of the season with a 102-100 win in overtime. Sophomore Jayson Love (Philadelphia, PA/Academy at Palumbo) scored 28 points including the game-winning layup at the buzzer to give the Vikings the win. Freshman Joel Idravo (Hamilton, NJ/Solebury School) added 24 points and sophomore Nasir Collins (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) nearly had a triple double with ten points, ten rebounds and eight assists.
Freshman Brandon McCain (North Brunswick, NJ / North Brunswick HS) added twelve points and freshman Drew Parrish (New York, NY / Murray Bergtraum HS) added seven points and six assists in the win.
The overtime thriller win gives the Vikings some momentum as they head into a short break for Thanksgiving before taking on three Region opponents in the next two weeks: Del Tech on December 3rd, Essex on December 7th and Lackawanna on December 10th.
