MCCC Baseball: A Strong, Established Program

3/26/24

As Opening Day approaches for Major League Baseball this week, we are going to look at Mercer's baseball program and its history.  MCCC baseball has established itself as one of the top junior college programs on the East Coast.  The Vikings baseball team has reached the NJCAA World Series four times in the past ten years and came close to a national title, finishing fourth overall at the 2022 World Series. MCCC also has the seventh most players drafted between 2003-2022 out of colleges in the state of New Jersey.

The MCCC baseball had its first season in 1967 and has 1,380 wins in program history.  MCCC baseball has played in 2,157 games and has a .639 winning percentage.  The Vikings have 14 seasons with 30 or more wins.  The Vikings best season came in 2016 when they won 51 games.

Mercer has had 33 players drafted in the MLB Draft and three players have played in Major League games.  There have been 20 NJCAA All-Americans in MCCC history.

Viking baseball has a strong tradition and history at MCCC and one that we hope continues this spring. The Vikings are currently 13-9.
