Whether the Groundhog tells us if we have six more weeks of winter or six more weeks until spring, the MCCC spring sports season will be here before we know it. Baseball, softball, and men’s and women’s tennis will be taking to the fields and courts soon.
Mercer baseball will look to repeat as Region Champions again this spring and advance to the NJCAA Division III World Series for the time in years. Last spring, MCCC softball were Region Runner-Ups and advanced to the Atlantic District Championship. Mercer men’s lacrosse will also be back in action this spring and look to advance beyond the Region 19 Semifinals this spring. The Vikings return three All-Region 19 players including Region Offensive Player of the Year Owen McAdams.
MCCC women’s tennis had their best ever finish at the NJCAA Division I Championship last spring and will look to get back to the National Tournament and improve on that finish this spring. Mercer men’s tennis finished one place shy of qualifying for the NJCAA Division III National Tournament last spring with just four players (six players is a full scoring roster). This spring, the Vikings will have a full scoring roster including 2023 Region Champion at 1st Singles Peyton Miller back and will look to not just make the National Tournament, but compete for a national title.
An early or late spring for Mercer’s sports teams doesn’t matter, the Vikings will be ready to be back in action in Spring 2025!
