The weekend of March 21st-23rd was a special one for Mercer Athletics. In three days, Mercer had four of its spring sports teams combine to go a perfect 10-0. Women’s tennis opened the weekend with their first match of the 2025 season, beating Camden CC 9-0 and winning every flight in the match. Mercer baseball opened Region play with a game at CC of Morris and won 6-2.
On Saturday, Mercer baseball swept CC of Morris in a doubleheader, winning 5-3 in Game 1 and 4-2 in Game 2 to move to 3-0 in Region play. MCCC softball also opened Region play this weekend and on Saturday, swept Lackawanna in a doubleheader, winning Game 1, 18-1 and Game 2, 8-5, to move to 14-0 on the season and 2-0 in Region play. Men’s lacrosse began their upstate New York road trip with an 18-1 win at Mohawk Valley and Mercer lacrosse’s second straight win.
The success continued for the Vikings on Sunday, starting with a 17-11 win at SUNY Jefferson, their third straight win after starting the season 0-3. The winning continued with Mercer softball sweeping Hudson Valley in a doubleheader, (4-1 in Game 1 and 11-4 in Game 2) to move to 16-0 on the season.
Mercer Athletics did not just have a good weekend, they had a perfect weekend. The performance of MCCC’s athletic teams this week was so good, it was a perfect ten.
