Women's Soccer Player Oliveira Named GSAC Player of the Week

Freshman goalie Celina Oliveira (Vila Praia de Ancara, Portugal/Escola Basica Secoudario) has been named the GSAC DII Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of September 17th-24th. Oliveira has been outstanding in the net for the Vikings in her few appearances this season. Oliveira had 12 saves in a 1-0 shutout at Ocean and currently has the 4th best save percentage in NJCAA Division II soccer at .930. In just three games this season, Oliveira has 40 saves. The Vikings are 2-1 when Oliveira is in the goal and her effort against Ocean gave Mercer their third straight win.
