MCCC Athletics Has Much To Look Forward To In The New Year

 

 

With a new year often comes changes and uncertainty about what lies ahead.  One thing that is certain is that MCCC student athletes will continue to give their best effort on and off the field and court.  

 

Another certainty is that MCCC student athletes will continue to add to the strong and successful history of Mercer’s athletic programs.  

 

We are certain that Mercer Athletics will continue to bring student athletes to Mercer County Community College and help increase the college’s enrollment.

 

We are certain that MCCC student athletes will continue to bring the college and community together through the talent they bring to the field and court.

 

The New Year also brings many opportunities for Mercer’s athletic teams.  Both men’s and women’s basketball will look to qualify for the Region 19 Playoffs and compete for a Region title.

 

In the spring, MCCC baseball will look to repeat as Region 19 Champions with the chance to advance to both the District and National Championship.  MCCC softball will look to qualify for the NJCAA Division I National Tournament after advancing to the District Championship in 2024.  Mercer women’s tennis will look to once again reach the National Tournament and improve upon their 23^rd place finish at last year’s National Championship.  

 

Mercer men’s lacrosse will look to qualify for the Region 19 Playoffs and compete for a Region 19 title after having a full year under second year Coach Ben Whitcraft.  Mercer men’s tennis will look to win not just win a Region 19 Championship but compete for an NJCAA Division III National title as the team has a strong returning lineup along with talented newcomers.

 

And in fall of 2025, Mercer men’s and women’s soccer will look to once again repeat as Region Champions.  MCCC men’s soccer will look to vie for a National title after losing to eventual National Champion, Northeast CC in 2024. Mercer women’s soccer will look to win an East District title and qualify for the National Tournament.

 

In the New Year, we have so much to look forward in MCCC Athletics, especially the vital role our student athletes play in the success of Mercer County Community College!
