MCCC Athletics to Host All-Region Night at Men's Lacrosse Game April 10th

 Mercer Athletics will be hosting All-Region and All-Conference Night at a MCCC men’s lacrosse game on April 10^th vs Williamson Trade at 6:00 PM.  The night will recognize MCCC student athlete who earned All-Region or All-Conference honors in Fall 2023, Winter 2023-2024, and Spring 2023 (All-Region or All-Conference teams) or 2024 GSAC (Garden State Athletic Conference) Players of the Week.  Athletes who earned All-Region or All-Conference honors will be announced at halftime of the game.

 

The following men’s soccer players earned All-Region 19 honors this fall: sophomores Dillon Du Toit (Johannesburg, South Africa/Waterstone College), Omolemo Matla (Vereeniging, South Africa/Waterstone College) and Teddy Nkamanyi (Cologne, Germany/Gesamachule Duisburg Mitte).  The Vikings won the Region 19 Championship and Du Toit was named the Region 19 Tournament Defensive MVP and Nkamanyi was named the Region 19 Tournament Offensive MVP.  Head Men’s Soccer Coach Widmarc Dalce was named the Region 19 Coach of the Year.

 

Vikings men’s soccer also had four players named GSAC Players of the Week: sophomores Felipe Nazario (Sao Paulo, Brazil/) Nkamanyi, freshmen Alou Gamby (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) and Lesedi Hlabeli (Guateng, South Africa/Redford House Blue Hills).

 

Four MCCC Vikings women’s soccer players earned All-Region 19 honors this fall: freshmen Laura Kucharz (Singen, Germany/Frierich Wohler Gymnasium), Fiona Madigan (Dublin, Ireland/Fingal Community College), Annika Mariner (Asperg, Germany/Gymnasium IB), and Celina Oliveira (Villa Praia de Ancura, Portugal/Escola Basica e Secoudario Do Vale Do Ancura).  All four of these players also earned GSAC Player of the Week honors in the fall.

 

Sophomore men’s basketball players Izaiah Johnson (Burlington, NJ/Burlington City) and Jason Mark (Broward, FL/Ely Branche HS) were named All-Region 19.  Johnson earned his second straight 1^st Team All-Region selection and Mark earned 2^nd Team All-Region 19 honors.  Mark was also named GSAC Player of the Week this winter along with sophomore Justin Carbone (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick).

 

In Spring 2023, MCCC softball player Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) earned 1^st Team All-Region 19 honors and 1^st Team All-Conference honors.  Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) earned 1^st Team All-Conference honors.

 

Men’s lacrosse players Izzy Miranda (Tampa, FL/Tampa Catholic) and Braden Travaglini both earned All-Region 19 and All-Conference honors for Spring 2023. 

 

Mercer baseball players sophomores Joe Gmitter (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Torin McKenzie (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) and freshmen Matteo Mannino (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) and Collin Williams (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) have both  named GSAC Players of the Week for Spring 2024. 

 

Viking freshmen softball players Izzy Bonacci (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Kelci O’Dell (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) have both been named GSAC Players of the Week this Spring.

 

The night will feature some giveaways from Athletics during the game as well as the opportunity to make posters to support MCCC men’s lacrosse and/or those who are earned All-Region or All-Conference honors.
