Mercer softball opened the 2015 season with a 9-7 win over Rend Lake, IL in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Sophomore Dana Knapp (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) was 2 for 4 with a double, home run and 4 RBIs.  Freshman Kristen Cheesman (Clinton, NJ/North Hunterdon) went 3 for 4 with a double, triple, 3 runs and an RBI and freshman Casey Murphy (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs.  Sophomore pitcher Kaitlyn Cegielski (Stockton, NJ/Hunterdon Central) got her first win of the season and freshman Megan Mount (Frenchtown, NJ/Delaware Valley Regional) got her first collegiate save.  Sophomore Jessica Fremgen (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) and freshman Haley Leonhauser (Ringoes, NJ/Hunterdon Central) each had an RBI in the win.
