Mercer men's soccer (20-3-1) won their opening game of the NJCAA Division I National Tournament, beating Waubonsee 8-2.  Freshman Eiichi Yamaguchi (Osaka, Japan/Yonago Kita) led the Vikings with 4 goals and 2 assists.  Sophomore Adir Versano (Azor, Israel/Orf Holon) had 2 goals and freshman Diego Leite (Rio de Janiero, Brazil/Sistema GAU De Ensino) added 2 assists in the win.  Freshmen Oshana Boothe (Kingston, Jamaica/St. George's College) and Rayan Steglich (Rio de Janiero, Brazil/Centro Educacional Anisio Teixeira) each scored a goal and freshman Kotaro Okada (Matsuyama, Japan/Saibi Senior HS) and sophomore Erik Munguia (Trenton, NJ/Foundation Collegiate Academy) each had an assist.  The Vikings will play host Yavapai at 4:30 PM Wednesday for a chance to advance to the National Semifinals.
