Mercer men's soccer moved to 13-0-1 on the season, grinding out a 2-0 win over Camden, who is currently ranked sixth in the nation in NJCAA Division III soccer. The Vikings are currently ranked sixth in NJCAA Division I soccer. Mercer was held scoreless in the first half, before finding the net twice in the second half to secure their 13th win of the season. Sophomore Marco Rossi (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Sao Bernardo Do Campo) scored the first goal of the game off an assist from sophomore David Udijohn (Hamilton, NJ/Notre Dame). Freshman Gonnie Ben-Tal (Tel-Aviv, Israel/Irony Dalet) had the second goal off an assist from sophomore Guilherme Franca (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Amorim). Sophomore goalkeeper Kellen Groover (Roebling, NJ/Life Center Academy) had three saves in the shutout win. The Vikings next travel to Rowan College @ Burlington on Wednesday, October 14th at 4:00 PM in a Region 19 showdown. |
