Mercer men's basketball (14-13) won their opening round game of the Region 19 Playoffs, upsetting the #3 seed Del Tech Stanton on their home court 74-73.  The Vikings entered the tournament as the #7 seed and were able to hold off a late Del Tech run that saw the Vikings double digit lead slip away but the Vikings held on in the final minute for the win.  Freshman David Johnson (Philadelphia, PA/Communications Tech) led all scorers with 27 points and sophomore Jonathan Perry (Trenton, NJ/Life Center Academy) added 12 points in the win.  Freshman Dashante Alexander (Philadelphia, PA/Simon Gratz) had 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and sophomore Michael Douglas (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) added 9 points and 8 assists in the win.  With the win, the Vikings advance to the Region 19 Semfinals held at Brookdale, where they will take on the #2 seed Raritan Valley.
