Mercer men's basketball (13-13) fell to Essex 61-68 in their final regular season game of 2013-2014.  The Vikings trailed by as many as 22 points at the start of the second half, but managed a big second rally to fall just short of last year's Region 19 Champion.  Sophomore Michael Douglas (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) led the Vikings with 13 points and freshman David Johnson (Philadelphia, PA/Communications Tech) added 12 points in the loss.  Sophomore Kevin Allison (Bordentown, NJ/Florence Twp.) had 9 points and 5 rebounds and freshman Dashante Alexander (Philadelphia, PA/Simon Gratz) added 8 points in the losing effort.  The Vikings finish the regular season with a 13-13 record and will open Region 19 Playoff play next week.
