Mercer men's basketball fell to 0-7 following a 58-91 loss to Essex.  Essex was ranked fourth in the NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball preseason rankings.  Freshman Jamir Jenkins (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) had 15 points and freshman Deonte Harris (Bristol, PA/Bristol) added 12 points.  Freshman Dave Coulanges (Trenton, NJ/Burlington Twp.) had 8 points in his season debut.  Sophomore John Armstead (Brown Mills, NJ/BCIT-Medford) added 7 points and freshman Lorenzo Williams (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) had 6 points in the loss.
