Mercer baseball (48-14) finished as National Tournament Runner-Ups following a 5-11 loss to Kankakee in the NJCAA Division II World Series Championship game.  Sophomore Sid Kumar (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor North) had 2 home runs and 4 RBIs and sophomore Jordan Gonzalez (Manalapan, NJ/Colts Neck) had a home run and RBI in the loss.  The Vikings managed just four hits compared to the 15 hits by the Kankakee Cavaliers.  This marked the first time a Mercer baseball team has reached the National Championship.  Kumar and sophomore Gabriel Castillo (Yonkers, NY/HS for Environmental Studies) were named to the World Series All-Tournament Team.  Sophomore pitcher Dennis Brady (Vineland, NJ/Buena) was named the Pitcher of the Tournament.
