Mercer baseball (35-5) opened the double elimination Region 19 Tournament with a 10-2 win over host Del Tech Owens.  Freshman Shane Monahan (Levittown, PA/Truman) had a home run and 2 RBIs and sophomore Steven Todd (Millstone, NJ/Allentown) added 2 RBIs in the win.  Freshman Edward Ashley (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 3 with a double, triple and RBI, freshman Greg Santora (Southampton, NJ/Seneca) was 2 for 3 with a run and RBI and sophomore Heath Fillmyer (Roebling, Florence Twp.) was 2 for 4 with a run and RBI.  Sophomore pitcher Ben Stine (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) struck out 5 in 7 innings to move to 7-1 on the season.  Sophomore Mark Tomei (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) and freshmen Brandon Kirk (Yardville, NJ/Hamilton West) and Joe Santospago (Doylestown, PA/Archbishop Wood) all had an RBI in the win.
