Mercer baseball (47-12) advanced in the NJCAA Division II World Series following a 9-7 win over Lansing.  Sophomore Gabriel Castillo (Yonkers, NY/HS for Environmental Studies) went 4 for 5 with a double, home run and RBI and sophomore Dan Shane (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) went 2 for 5 with a triple and 3 RBIs.  Sophomore Anthony Peroni (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) added an RBI in the win.  Sophomore pitcher Andrew DiPiazza (Bayville, NJ/Central Regional) struck out 11 in eight innings in his eighth win of the season and sophomore Matt Chitwood (Miami, FL/Southwest Sr.) struck out two in the ninth for the save and Vikings win.  Mercer will next play on Wednesday, May 31st at 4:30 PM vs. the winner of Phoenix/Lansing.
