Mercer baseball (40-7) kept their 2014 season alive with a 5-2 win over Vincennes, Indiana in the elimination bracket of the NJCAA Division II World Series.  Sophomore Steven Todd (Millstone, NJ/Allentown) had 2 RBIs and freshman Joe Santospago (Doylestown, PA/Archbishop Wood) added a solo home run in the win. Sophomore Heath Fillmyer (Roebling, NJ/Florence Twp.) had an RBI single and sophomore Kalyb Smith (Levittown, PA/Notre Dame) went 2 for 4 with a run.  Sophomore pitcher Ben Stine (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) got his eighth win of the season and retired nine straight batters in the fifth-eighth innings.  Sophomore Charles Morreale (Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrence) got the save, closing out the game with a double play.  Santospago had a leaping catch to rob Vincennes of a game-tying home run in the top of the ninth to help Morreale close out the game.  With the win, the Vikings remain alive in the elimination bracket and will face Pasco-Hernando, Florida, who beat the Vikings in their World Series opener 2-3 in 10 innings.
