Mercer baseball (41-12) beat Lackawanna 6-4 in their opening game of the double elimination Region 19 Tournament at Del Tech Owens.  Freshman Osvaldo Millet (Miami, FL/TERRA Environmental) had a double and 2 RBIs and sophomore Gabriel Castillo (Yonkers, NY/HS for Environmental Studies) and Anthony Peroni (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) each added an RBI in the win.  Sophomore pitcher Andrew DiPiazza (Bayville, NJ/Central Regional) struck out six in 6 1/3 innings and sophomore reliever Matt Chitwood (Miami, FL/Southwest Sr HS) struck out four in 2 2/3 innings to get the save and advance the Vikings to the Winner's Bracket of the Region 19 Tournament.
