Mercer baseball (34-10) lost Game 2 of their doubleheader vs. Harford, MD 3-5 in nine innings.  Harford scored two runs in the top of the ninth for the extra inning win.  Sophomore Brandon Kirk (Yardville, NJ/Hamilton West) was 2 for 4 with a home run and sophomore Eddie Ashley (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs in the loss.  Freshman pitcher Zach Gakeler (Jobstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) struck out five in 5 2/3 innings and freshman Mark Scarpa (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) struck out three in one inning of relief work.  Sophomore Shane Monahan (Levittown, PA/Truman) went 2 for 3 with a run in the loss and freshman pitcher Christian Waters (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor North) suffered his first loss of the season, following one inning of relief, to fall to 5-1 on the season.
