Mercer baseball (44-12) beat CCBC-Catonsville 12-0 in seven innings in their opening game of the best of 3 Northeast District Championship.  Sophomore Jordan Gonzalez (Manalapan, NJ/Colts Neck) went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs and sophomore Gabriel Castillo (Yonkers, NY/HS for Environmental Studies) went 2 for 4 with a home run, double and 2 RBIs.  Sophomore Erik Bowren (Doylestown, PA/Archbishop Wood) went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs and sophomores Anthony Boselli (Ventnor City, NJ/Holy Spirit) and Anthony Peroni (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) each went 2 for 4 with a double and RBI.  Sophomore pitcher Dennis Brady (Vineland, NJ/Buena) struck out 8 in 7 innings in his ninth win of the season.
