Mercer baseball (1-0) opened up the 2017 season with two wins in a doubleheader at Cumberland on a 67 degree day in February.  In Game 1, the Vikings won 9-6.  Sophomore Anthony Peroni (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 3 for 6 with a home run, double and 2 RBI's and sophomore Dan Shane (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) was 3 for 5 with a triple, two doubles and 2 RBI's.  Sophomore Nick Dabrio (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) went 3 for 3 with an RBI and 2 runs and freshman Osvaldo Millet (Miami, FL/Terra Environmental) was 2 for 5 with a home run and RBI.  Sophomore Anthony Boselli (Ventnor City, NJ/Holy Spirit) went 2 for 4 with an RBI and sophomore Jordan Gonzalez (Manalapan, NJ/Colts Neck) was 2 for 3 with a run scored.  Sophomore pitcher Dennis Brady (Vineland, NJ/Buena) had 5 strikeouts in 4 innnings of work.  Freshman Billy Meyer (Levittown, PA/Neshaminy) picked up his first collegiate win and freshman Sean O'Boyle (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) got his first collegiate save.
