Alternate Route to Passing Grades (Previous Policy for Project based courses)
If you get an 80% or more on the "adjusted" final, you will get at least a "C."
If you also pass the project with 70% or more you can get a "B."
To get an "A," you have to get an "A" on the "adjusted" final or the project.
If you secure between 65% and 80% on the "adjusted" final, you will have to get an 80% or more on the project to pass the class with a "C."
"Adjusted" final means I have to see your work for every problem for you get credit.
Failure to justify your answer, even obvious or calculator questions, will cost you credit for the entire problem.
Partial credit may also be administered if you have the correct work, but the computer gave no credit.
If there is any collaboration or improper use of the computer during any exam or on the project, an adjusted grade of zero will be administered and a report filed with the AIC.

The emphasis in this course is on presenting a good argument not simply producing an answer.
SHOW ALL WORK TO SUPPORT YOUR ARGUMENTS AND TO GET FULL CREDIT.
An “OK” mark on your paper means the answer is wrong but you get full credit for the argument.
Leave all work visible as you might get half credit for arguments that are good, but crossed off.
Unjustified answers receive NO credit! |
