134   Using the Internet

Laboratory 6:  HTML Part 1

Purpose:  to practice using the HTML tags introduced in this session

I.          If Notepad is not already open, click “Start” “Programs” “Accessories” and “Notepad” to open your text editor.   Use the proper HTML to produce the following view through the  Netscape Navigator browser.    Save the document you produce to floppy A:\ as “lab6.htm”.   View it through your browser to make sure that it displays as it should.  You need not type the comments in parentheses.   Those comments merely clarify your instructions.

II.          When you’re satisfied with your Web document, copy and paste it into an e-mail message to me (kelld@mccc.edu) with the subject line “Lab 6”.

Check this out! (heading size 1, centered)

This is the first page I’ve produced on my own using HTML! (Italicized and boldfaced, as well as centered)

(Make this paragraph blue) I’ve learned that the only tags absolutely needed or recommended for a Web page are:

HTML (boldfaced)

HEAD (boldfaced)

TITLE  (boldfaced)

BODY (boldfaced)

My favorite hobbies are: (list three, one under the other, centered)
