MCCC Gallery Hosts Student Visual Art Show April 17-May 10

WEST WINDSOR – The talents of Mercer County Community College’s art students will be on display in this year's "MCCC Student Visual Art Show," the exhibit at The Gallery at Mercer from Wednesday, April 17 through Friday, May 10.

The exhibit is free and open to the public at The Gallery, located on the second floor of the college's Communications Building on the West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.  An Opening Reception is set for Wednesday, April 24, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

"Mercer attracts some incredible young artists, which is obvious from the quality of the work in this show," said Tina LaPlaca, Advertising Design Program Coordinator. "We are fortunate to have a diversity of artistic expression in this exhibit, and we are proud to share these works with the public."

Winning Poster

The works of Mercer County Community College art students will be on display from April 17 to May 10 at the Gallery at Mercer, 1200 Old Trenton Road. The winning design used in promotional materials for the exhibit was created by Jaclyn Solarski, an MCCC Adverstising and Graphic Design student from Robbinsville.

The exhibit features works by 75 of the college’s visual and graphic art students.  The works represent creations by students in all of the visual arts, ranging from advertising and graphic design to animation, photography and sculpture.

Also on display will be the winning poster designs promoting the exhibit, which were created by students in Mercer’s Advertising Design classes. This year’s winner of the design contest, used on promotional posters and postcards, is Jaclyn Solarski of Robbinsville, an MCCC Advertising and Graphic Design student.

Gallery hours for the exhibit are: Tuesday and Wednesday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m..  For more information, call The Gallery at (609) 570-3589 or e-mail gallery@mccc.edu.  For additional information on The Gallery, visit www.mccc.edu/gallery.
