IT Career Certificate Programs

MCCC is pleased to offer two training opportunities that will help you build the expertise necessary to become a first level Network Administrator or Web Page Developer. Each program is 11 weeks in duration and includes a professional development module.

Networking Administrator
Learn the skills you need to become a first level Network Administrator. This program will provide fundamental knowledge of operating environments, support requirements for both desktop and LAN server, as well as internet communications. It will include significant and realistic practical experience.

Web Page Developer
Learn the skills you need to create and maintain web pages. Using HTML and other tools, students will gain significant and realistic practical experience in Web page design, development and administration.

Who should attend:

  • Those interested in preparing for a career in IT
  • Career changers

Prerequisites:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 9.0 Reading level: 8.0 math level based on TABE
  • Keyboarding skills of 25 words per minute
  • Effective speaking, listening, writing and comprehension skills
  • Desire, determination and commitment to succeed in an IT career
  • Computer skills:
    - Knowledge of Windows 3.1 or above (or MAC environment), word processing, and an email package
    - Ability to create and work with directories, folders and files
    - Working knowledge of browsers and search engines on the web
  • Desirable skills, but not required:
    - Knowledge of Excel, Access, Powerpoint and/or a graphics package
