MCCC Foundation Co-Chair to be Honored During Annual Scholarship Gala

West Windsor, N.J. – Nina Melker, Senior Vice President at Berkshire Bank in Hamilton, will be honored with the Distinguished Service Award during Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC) 31st Annual Scholarship Celebration.
“I am very honored to serve this college,” Melker said. "Mercer is very near and dear to my heart.”
Melker’s involvement with the college dates back to the late 1980s when she served as Senior Vice President at Yardville National Bank. She joined the committee that manages the scholarship event, coordinating volunteers and staff to produce the event.
Then, in the mid-2000s, Melker served on the college’s committee for the annual Golf Classic, a role that eventually led to her election to the MCCC Foundation Board in 2007. From 2013 to 2015, Melker chaired the Foundation Board, during which she helped the college celebrate its 25th anniversary of the scholarship gala.
Though Melker’s service under the MCCC flag ended in 2017, her involvement with the college continued when she was elected a Mercer County Freeholder in September 2018. Now, Melker has returned to co-chair the gala, a celebration that raised more than $550,000 in direct support for MCCC students.
