West Windsor, N.J. – Nate Raccagno, a long stick midfielder on Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC) lacrosse team, is making the most of his skill set. The freshman joined Mercer after playing both ice hockey and lacrosse at Pennsbury High School, and his multi-sport background is strengthening the Vikings' defense.
Through nine games—all of which he started—Raccagno leads Mercer in ground balls with 51. That mark places him ninth among all players in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
“Nate's experience as a hockey player really translates well in lacrosse,” Head Coach Rob Siris said. “Especially with his hand-eye coordination.”
Raccagno and the Vikings have two more contests left in the regular season. Mercer will host Potomac State on Saturday, April, 13 at 1 p.m., followed by the final home game of the season against Ocean County on Wednesday, April 17 at 5 p.m.
