West Windsor, N.J. – The Mercer County Community College (MCCC) women’s soccer team has enjoyed one of its hottest season starts in recent memory. Behind that start is Gabby DeLisa, a freshman center back who has been the engine of the Lady Vikings’ defense.

“Gabby is a very consistent and composed player,” said women’s soccer Head Coach Elyse Diamond. “She has great field vision and is a team leader in the back field.”

Through the first 10 games, Gabby has been instrumental in helping the Lady Vikings stifle their opponents. She started in each of Mercer’s five shutout victories.

Through the first 10 games, Gabby has been instrumental in helping the Lady Vikings stifle their opponents. She started in each of Mercer’s five shutout victories and even contributed a pair of assists in a 12-0 victory over the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) at Catonsville.

“I don’t have to worry about Gabby,” Diamond added. “Practices or games, I’ve never had a question about her work ethic.”

DeLisa and the Lady Vikings will return to play at home on Saturday, Oct. 5 against the CCBC at Essex.
