Fall Career Fair Oct. 22
Tell your students to bring their resume, a nice set of clothes and to put their best foot forward at our career fair! A variety of employers will be in the student center to discuss opportunities, including full and part-time and internships, tomorrow Oct. 22 from 11am-1pm. See the flyer here here.

Holocaust Survivor Al Hepner presents “Avrumele: Recollections of a Hidden Child.”
The Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Center's next event for the fall semester features, Al Hepner, a Holocaust survivor. His program will be held in the Holocaust Center (LB200) at noon. For the full schedule of events, click here.

Art as a Tool For Civic Engagement is Lecture Topic Oct. 22
The use of artistic expression as a means to bring about social change will be the topic of a lecture on Tuesday, Oct. 22, as part of the college’s Fall 2019 Distinguished Lecture Series. Jive Poetic will deliver his lecture “Insurgent Poetics” at noon in CM109. Read more here.

Photography, Poetry Join Forces for Exhibit at JKC Gallery, Oct. 22
Photography and poetry come together for a singular experience at the JKC Gallery, when two life-long friends put their work on display in the exhibit “Pequeña Hoguera – Blaze,” Oct. 22 through Nov. 12. An opening reception and artist talk, via Skype, will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at JKCG. The event is free and open to the public.  Read More here.

The Kindness Rocks Project Returns to MCCC Oct. 23
The Kindness Rocks Project, an international grassroots movement to spread positivity and well-being, returns to MCCC this week. All are invited to paint a rock with inspiring words or a kind message on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 11:30 am to 2 pm at the Center City Cafe at JKC.

Aviation Flight Technology Program Open House Oct. 23
Team members from Infinity Flight Group, MCCC and Piedmont/American Airlines will be on hand to answer questions about our guided pathway partnership that will take you from zero flight hours to commercial airline pilot. Interested attendees are asked to RSVP through the Infinity website here. The auditorium room number will be sent prior to the event.

MCCC to Celebrate Women Entrepreneurship Week 2019 on Oct. 23 and 24
In celebration of Women Entrepreneurship Week 2019, the college has a pair of panel discussions scheduled for both the West Windsor and Trenton campuses featuring women entrepreneurs from the Mercer area. The West Windsor panel is slated for Wednesday, Oct. 23 at noon in CM107, while the James Kerney panel is set for Thrusday, Oct. 24 at noon in KC229. MCCC Student Life and Leadership, the Center for Continuing Studies, Follett Bookstore, Lessing’s Dining Services, and Kelsey Theatre are providing items for door prizes for the events. There will be light refreshments after the panel discussion.  See the flyer for both presentations here.

Health Professions to Host Information Session Oct. 24
The college will offer two more Health Professions Information Sessions, where prospective students will learn about degree programs, career paths, employment opportunities and more. ‘Catch Me if You Can’ Takes Off at Kelsey Theatre Oct. 25 through Nov. 3
Take a teenage runaway gushing with boyish charm and a big imagination who successfully poses as a doctor, lawyer, and airline pilot, millions of dollars in forged checks, and a cat-and-mouse game with an FBI agent, and you’ve got the musical comedy “Catch Me If You Can,” presented by The Pennington Players Oct. 25 through Nov. 3 at Kelsey Theatre. Read more here.

History Professor Sue Kozel Earns NJ Public Scholar Designation
Five months after she earned a fellowship for her study of Thomas Jefferson, the Quakers, and slavery, History Professor Sue Kozel has again been recognized for her contributions to the study of enslaved people: The New Jersey Council for the Humanities has named Kozel a Public Scholar for 2020 to 2022 in recognition of her work on investigating the 1784 murder of Wench Betty, an enslaved New Jersey woman. Success Coaches Spell Out Time Management Tips
Vividly colored calendars and time-conscious apps were just the beginning of the conversation at MCCC's “Time and Stress Management Workshop.” On Oct. 15, MCCC success coaches led a discussion about the strategies students have at their disposal to create order in their collegiate lives that can too easily trend toward chaos. Skate Club Rolls Onto Campus
A unanimous decision at the September Student Government Association meeting at MCCC saw the induction of a handful of new clubs – including the Skate Club. Among the members that joined are students that ride skateboards, rip sticks, rollerblades, penny boards, and longboards. Read more here.

Viking in the Spotlight: Eduardo Effting
Eduardo Effting, a midfielder, who Men's Soccer Head Coach Widmarc Dalce complemented for his level-headed play, has served as an intermediary between the team’s high-volume scoring and rock-solid defense. Read more here.

Nov. 6: HRIM's 6th Annual Culinary Tasting Event. Supporting a good cause never tasted so good, as the MCCC Culinary/Pastry programs will once again host a tasting event featuring Central New Jersey’s finest restaurants, with proceeds to benefit student scholarships. Zumba, Yoga Classes Now Underway. Yoga and Zumba classes for staff and students are now under way! Evening yoga continues through Dec. 9 in PE 225 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday lunchtime yoga classes continue through Dec. 11 in the gym, noon to 1 p.m. See the flyer here. Zumba classes will be held on Tuesdays, through Dec. 10, in the gym from noon to 1 p.m. See the flyer here. There will be no classes during the week of Thanksgiving break. Classes are presented through the Student Life and Leadership office.
