Teaching

The Center for Continuing Studies at Mercer offers a variety of education courses to meet the needs of those interested in teaching.

The New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey provides an Alternate Route to Teaching for those who already have a Bachelor's degree or higher and did not complete a traditional teacher preparation program. Full details on the revised program will be coming soon.

The Child Care Career Development Certificate assists early childhood educators working in child care centers and preschools. The completion of all courses within this program satisfies the educational component for obtaining a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. The hours may also be used toward a Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) credential. To learn more about this program, please visit the Child Care Career Development tab above.

Enrolling now for Fall 2017 semester is the Montessori Teacher Training Institute of Mercer's Montessori Teacher Certification program. This popular program is American Montessori Society (AMS) affiliated and is accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE.) Applications are currently being accepted. Please visit the Montessori Teacher Training Institute tab above for details and application forms.
