Lifeguard Training

Lifeguard Training: An Intensive Course (Ages 15+) 

Prerequisite: Candidate must be able to swim 500 years continuously (crawl, breast stroke and side stroke): surface dive nine feet (9') and bring a brick to the surface; surface dive 5 feet (5') and swim underwater for 15 yards; and tread water with hands out of the water for two minutes.

Get ready to lifeguard this summer! This intensive course includes first aid and CPR for the professional rescuer. Participants who successfully complete the pool and classroom sessions will receive American Red Cross Certification in Lifeguard Training. In order to pass and receive certification, attendance at all sessions is mandatory.

Cost: $326 (tuition $185, administrative fee $38, pool fee $64, books $39)

Lifeguard Training Update / Renewal (Ages 15+)

Is your certification about to expire or do you need the Lifeguard Today update? If so, join us for this refresher course to renew your certification and be ready for summer! This course will include a CPR challenge. Attendance at all classes is mandatory.

Cost: $215 (tuition $91, administrative fee $25, pool fee $60, books $39)

Instructor Training

Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (Ages 16+) 

If you are at least 16 years old and a proficient swimmer, you can become an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. This course will help you learn how to teach others the skills that may save a life! As a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, you can gain valuable work experience as an aquatics professional, earn money, or join a volunteer team while you help people learn valuable skills. In this class, you will learn organizational and presentation skills that will help you both in and out of the pool. Whether you want to splash around with kids and teach them to swim, help children and adults refine their strokes or teach diving safety techniques, you can do it as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.
Prerequisites: Minimum age of 16. Demonstrate swimming skills consistent with the Stroke Per-formance Charts, Level 4.
Cost: $230 (tuition $180, administrative fee $50)

Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Recertification(Ages 16+)

Is your certification about to expire or do you need the Lifeguard Today This class is for those who have already obtained a Red Cross WSI Safety Instructor certification and need to renew Red Cross certification. Proof of certification is required on first day of class.
Cost: $140 (tuition $90, administrative fee $50)
