The Center for Continuing Studies at Mercer offers an abundance of popular personal interest courses. From Writing and Photography courses to filmmaking and Job Readiness courses, we strive to have something for everyone. Please select from the areas that interest you from above.


What's NEW in Personal Interest this summer?

 

Pre-Licensing Real Estate Course

Earn extra income or start a new career as a real estate agent! This course prepares students to take the state real estate licensing exam so that they may sell real estate in New Jersey. Students must complete 75 hours of instruction and pass a school test in order to receive a certificate to take the state exam. Cost: $399

Playwriting Workshop

Learn story structure, how to develop memorable characters, places to find story ideas, exercises to jump-start your creativity, marketing approaches and much more. Students will develop a story outline while working toward writing the first draft of their play.

Introduction to Voiceovers

Have you ever wanted to be the voice everyone hears on commercials and documentaries? You CAN become a Professional Voiceover Artist! In this fun and interactive class, you will learn some of the details of the industry. Your instructor will coach you while recording your voice. Be warned; many who have taken this class have gone on to become paid professional voice actors! This class is instructed by a professional voice actor from the voice acting training company, Voices for All. Cost: $47

The Basics of Becoming a Flight Attendant

With flight attendant schools being at a minimum these days, this seven session course provides a solid introduction to anyone looking to obtain a job with an airline. Understanding this profession and its important role will help you decide if this lifestyle is right for you and it will aid your success in landing your first airline job. Some of the topics covered are: airline terminology; aircraft familiarization; flight attendant duties; emergency procedures and much more. Please note that certain security sensitive information cannot be covered in this class due to FAA regulations and completion of this course does not certify you as a flight attendant. Applicants must complete an FAA approved airline training program to become certified and fly on a particular aircraft. Cost: $499
